Sports Premium
Vision
At Paxcroft Primary School, we believe that Physical Education and Sport plays a vital role in enabling us to achieve to our full potential, both in the classroom and on the sports field. We build trust and friendship with each other when we play in teams; we develop our self-confidence and resilience when we finally master various skills. Playing sport develops our thinking skills as we strive to outwit our opponent. We improve our fitness and our knowledge and understanding of what it means to be healthy. Sport teaches us that there are boundaries in life and we compete fairly following accepted rules and showing excellent sportsmanship, both when we win and also when we lose. We participate to the best of our ability respecting our opponents and knowing that our contribution is not only for ourselves, but also for the greater good of our team.
The PE and Sport Premium can help primary schools to achieve this aim, providing primary schools with £320m of government funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered through their core budgets. It is allocated directly to schools so they have the flexibility to use it in the way that works best for their pupils

Funding for Primary School PE and Sports: 2024-2025
In keeping with previous years, the government provided a grant to schools known as the Sports Premium. Our allocation for the academic year 24/25 was £18,420.
The aim of this funding is to improve the Physical Education (P.E.) and sports programmes offered by primary schools, and is provided jointly by various governmental departments, including Education, Health and Culture, and Media and Sport.
The funding will be ‘ring fenced’ – this means it can only be spent specifically on P.E. and sport in schools.
